CITY OF LEBANON LAUNCHES WEBSITE-BASED DIGITAL BUDGET BOOK FOR FY2025 PROPOSED BUDGET

The website-based budget book replaces cumbersome PDFs, creating an informative and transparent experience for citizens.

(Lebanon, Oregon) – On April 3rd, the City of Lebanon released its proposed budget for the coming fiscal year, beginning July 1, 2024 and ending June 30, 2025. The City’s annual budget is now presented online in an intuitive format after partnering with ClearGov, a leading provider of Budget Cycle Management software for local governments. The platform’s Digital Budget Book replaces static, cumbersome PDF budget books that were traditionally difficult for citizens to navigate and comprehend. The format includes interactive graphs and tables designed to make complex financial data easy for anyone to understand.

“The transition to ClearGov and Digital Budget Book was borne out of necessity as available resources have forced the City to find cost-effective alternatives and as personnel reductions have impacted the Finance Department’s daily functions,” said Finance Director Brandon Neish. “The benefit internally is coupled with the City’s desire to present financial information with greater detail and in an easier to understand, comprehensive platform. We are looking forward to our continued partnership with ClearGov to make Lebanon’s finances easier for the community to review and understand.”

“ClearGov is pleased to partner with the City of Lebanon to create a modern, website-based budget book that’s easy to understand,” said Chris Bullock, CEO of ClearGov. “Citizens should be proud of the leadership the City of Lebanon has demonstrated by embracing innovation and taking this essential next step toward true clarity and accountability in local government.”

Director Neish says the best way to learn more about the Digital Budget Book and the City of Lebanon’s finances is to go online and explore. “We strongly encourage constituents to visit their FY2025 Proposed Budget today to see their tax dollars at work and get involved in the process. This is their budget and their feedback is critical to the process.” The FY2025 Proposed Budget can be accessed by visiting www.lebanonoregon.gov/finance and selecting “Budget” from the menu on the right side of the screen.
