Senior Services

The Lebanon Senior Center is operated by the City of Lebanon as a central place for services and activities for persons 50 and older and those with disabilities. Its primary purpose is to enhance the lives of older adults by offering the opportunity for educational programs, health and social services, recreational activities, arts and cultural experiences, social events, transportation and a nutrition program.

As an agency of the City of Lebanon, City employees manage the on-going business and programs of the Senior Center. In addition, many volunteers provide invaluable assistance in all areas of the Center’s activities.

The Senior Services Advisory Board, consisting of members from the general public and business community, meets monthly to evaluate programs and policies. The members provide guidance in setting goals for the Senior Center and serve as a link with the community-at-large.

The majority of the funding for the Senior Center is supplied from general tax revenue, while the transportation program is funded primarily through federal and state grants.  Also, a Senior Center Trust Fund is established to accept donations from the public and the budget from this fund is overseen by the Senior Services Advisory Board.
