Inspections

Inspection Process

All work done under a permit must be inspected. Once you have completed the work or portion of the work needing inspection, you may request an inspection using the 24-Hour Inspection Request Line at (888) 299.2821 or by visiting www.buildingpermits.oregon.gov. You may also make your request via email: bldpermits@lebanonoregon.gov, phone: 541.258.4906 or in person at 925 Main Street.

The following information is needed when requesting an inspection:

  • Day requesting
  • Type of inspection requesting
  • Job address
  • Permit number
  • IVR number
  • Contact name & phone number

Inspection Hours

Inspection requests received prior to 7:00 am will typically be conducted on the same business day unless another day is requested. If for some reason the City is unable to conduct your inspection on the day requested the person requesting the inspection will be contacted and other arrangements will be made.

Inspections are typically performed between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday. The inspector makes every effort to meet specific time requests, but inspector availability is sometimes limited. Please feel free to contact office staff at at (541) 258.4906, on the day of your inspection to make special arrangements if needed.

Final Building Inspections

Prior to requesting a final building inspection, please confirm that all other permits for your building project are approved and signed off, including Electrical Permits, Right-of-Way permits and Fire Marshal approvals. Final building approvals cannot be granted if these sign-offs have not been completed and approved.

Inspection Results

After completing the requested inspection, the inspector will either sign the yellow job card or prepare a written report describing items requiring correction. A copy of the inspector's report will be left on site. If the inspector finds that all minimum code requirements have been met, the inspector will indicate approval on the yellow job card.
